nother year is almost coming to a close. I am pleased to say this was a great year for Multiline. We developed some great new products such as the Optiline PE/ATP for feeding thin core at high speeds, a riveting system using plastic rivets for accurately registering laminated panels and many new developments for our Optiline PL X-Ray drilling unit.

Productronica '97 in Munich last month was a tremendous success. As always it is an excellent showcase for our latest equipment and a great opportunity to talk to our customers about future needs and business in general. Some of the equipment we featured at the show was our high-speed thin material Post Etch Punch, as well as the less expensive semi automatic versions of our Post Etch Punch and Artwork Punch. It is always amazing to see the size of the show, twenty five buildings or halls all filled with equipment and supplies for electronics manufacturing. The Multiline Europa booth measured 306 square meters (3,300 square feet). It was our eighth Productronica show over a sixteen year period (the show is every two years).

Some of our North American and Asian customers who came by our booth at the show may have wondered what exactly is the connection between Multiline Technology and Multiline Europa? Multiline Europa, which was established originally as a sales and service subsidiary of Multiline Technology U.S., has grown into one ofthe leading technical sales companies in Europe. They now represent many other suppliers to the printed circuit board business, as well as Multiline U.S., and have been able to take a broader approach to helping their customers solve problems. They provide the European sales and service for companies such as Optical Radiation exposure machines, Cedal endothermic continuous foil lamination presses, CMI coating measuring instruments, and other equipment for plating, exposure, lamination and soldermask. This year working in conjunction with a U.S. manufacturer of lasers, Multiline Europa introduced a C02 laser machine complete with automatic panel transporting to the laserhead.
