New Product Release

ultiline Technology is pleased to announce the introduction of another new product to its family of registration systems. The Multiframe, which is a state of the art glass phototool system was developed for the PWB industry where tight demands for registration are essential. This new frame is designed to give the most precise front-to-back registration of inner and outer layers with long term repeatability and accuracy.

The Multiframe is designed unlike your typical glass frame. It incorporates many more innovative features. A feature that our customers have expressed excitement about is the "Spring Loaded Pneumatically Retracted Pin System". This unique patented pining system has been developed to make it easier to remove the board from the pins after exposure. With a flip of the switch the pneumatic actuated pins are drawn out of the tooling holes. This new pinning system eliminates prying of laminated boards from tooling that can cause damage to the film and the glass.

The Multiframe currently comes standard with a hardened glass insert while other glass types may be available for different applications in the near future. There is a minimal downtime for glass removal and installation. This quick change operation is effortless thus, giving the operator the ability to change the glass and tooling in minutes.

Coupled with easy to read gages and a compact lightweight design is our new UV resistant gasket. This new gasket can handle panel thickness ranging from 0î to 0.157"(5mm) without the loss of chamber vacuum and the need to shim or change over to new seals or hinges.

Clean room safe bearings are utilized throughout the Multiframe. Multiline has chosen these bearings because many of our customers expressed concerns about unwanted metal shavings appearing in exposed artwork after prolonged usage. These metal shavings can sometimes get in between panels and artwork, which can cause havoc in the quality of your production. Using a Multiframe produces 100% accuracy and dependable registration with no metal shavings.

When it comes to registration, the Multiframe offers a one of a kind Three-Point Centerline Alignment system, this aligns the top glass to the tooling every time with high accuracy and repeatability.

High productivity and fast setup are common comments from our current customers. This is possible because taping and gluing are a thing of the past. Artwork is held in the Multiframe with a built in vacuum system. Depending on the tooling system one frame can accommodate multiple panel sizes and thickness as well as processing innerlayers and outerlayers without the need to change the glass.

Ergonomic engineering was employed in designing this new frame. During preliminary engineering testing, many operators using non-multiline glass frames expressed sore upper body parts after prolonged use from opening and closing of the frames. Multiline incorporated special pneumatic cylinders, and other features which alleviate long-term, undo stresses on the human body. These cylinders extend the operators efficiency during the phototool operation. This is just one way that Multiline Technology listens to their customers and understand the ever increasing needs placed on them.
