Artwork Registration is critical to the overall registration of a multilayer. Since the film is usually accurately produced on a plotter the registration accuracy is confined to how accurately the imaged artwork can be placed in registration to each other ( front to back). Old methods of individually punching tooling holes to a target one at a time yield poor results for today's tolerances. It is necessary to align the artwork to a known reference and punch all the tooling holes simultaneously if you are to expect the accuracy and repeatability required on the front end of the multilayer process.
